Injury management consulting

A senior injury management consultant, when you need one

On call injury management consulting and advice for Australian employers and brokers. A considered second opinion on a claim, without handing it over.

Advisory support across every Australian workers' compensation scheme.

What consulting is

Specialist judgement, without giving up the file

Not every claim needs to be handed over. Sometimes what an employer or broker needs is a considered view from someone who manages these files every day: a read on where a claim sits, and a clear sense of the next right step.

That is what an injury management consultant offers. You keep ownership of the claim and your own team stays close to it. We lend the specialist judgement at the points where it counts, whether that is a single phone call or an ongoing arrangement.

An advisory engagement can be as small as one question or as structured as a scoped file review. We will always be clear about where consulting ends and full claims management begins.

How we help

Three ways a consulting engagement works

Advisory support flexes to what the moment needs: a quick answer, a proper file review, or a standing arrangement for when questions arise.

A senior advisor on call

Ring through a live claim question and get a considered, plain English answer from someone who manages these files every day.

A second opinion on a file

We review a claim you're already managing, tell you where it sits and what we would do next, without taking it off your desk.

Guidance, not a handover

Consulting sits alongside your own team. You keep ownership of the claim. We lend the specialist judgement when it's needed.

The advisor's role

What a senior injury management advisor actually does

A good advisor does more than answer the question in front of them. They read the whole claim: the medical picture, the return to work position, the scheme's likely view. Then they tell you plainly what they see, including the parts that are uncomfortable.

In practice that means testing assumptions, flagging risks before they become expensive, and giving your team the wording and the reasoning to act with confidence. The aim is always to leave you better equipped, not more dependent.

We are also clear about scope. We advise, review and brief. We do not quietly take over a file you want to keep, and we document advice so it holds up later.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between consulting and claims management?

Claims management means we take a claim on and run it from start to finish. Consulting keeps the claim with you. We advise, review and answer questions, but your team stays in the driver's seat. Many clients use both, calling on advice for straightforward files and handing over the genuinely difficult ones.

Can I use you for one-off advice rather than an ongoing arrangement?

Yes. A lot of our consulting work is ad hoc: a single call about a live claim, a one-off file review, or a sounding board before an important decision. There is no requirement to commit to a retainer to get a considered answer.

Who does the advising?

A senior injury management consultant who manages complex and psychological claims day to day, across every Australian state scheme. You're speaking with an experienced practitioner, not a triage line.

Do you work with brokers as well as employers?

Yes. Brokers use our consulting to answer client questions with confidence and to know when a claim needs specialist attention. Employers use it for senior backup on the files their own team doesn't see often.

What if a claim turns out to need full management?

That's a common path. Advice often surfaces a claim that would be better handled hands-on. If that's the case we'll say so plainly, and moving from consulting into full claims management is a simple step from there.

Not sure whether to hand a claim over?

Talk it through with a senior advisor first. We'll tell you plainly what we'd do and whether advice is enough, with no obligation. Or call 1300 477 662.
